Smash Karts is a single-player, browser-based kart-combat arena game. You drive a rocket-armed kart around a floating arena, fire at rival karts controlled by AI, and try to blast or ram them off the edge before they do the same to you. It is inspired by the multiplayer .io-style kart battle games that popularized the genre, rebuilt here as a free, entirely client-side single-player experience at smashkarts.app.

Yes. smashkarts.app is completely free and runs entirely in your browser. There is nothing to buy, download, or install, and there are no ads interrupting a run, premium tiers, or paywalls.

No. Smash Karts is a 100% browser-based game built with HTML5 canvas and JavaScript. It loads in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, and other modern browsers on desktop and mobile without a plugin, app store listing, or installer.

Smash Karts is a cartoon-style vehicle combat game with no chat, no user-generated content, and no in-game purchases. Combat is limited to rockets and ramming between karts on a stylized arena, presented without graphic violence.

Drive with the arrow keys or WASD (or a touch joystick on mobile), aim your turret with the mouse, and click or press Space to fire. Grab glowing power-ups on the arena floor for better weapons, a speed boost, or healing. Reduce a rival kart to zero health, or knock it off the arena edge, to smash it for a point. You have three lives — the run ends when you lose all of them.

Every rival kart you smash — whether by draining its health with weapons or ramming it off the arena edge — adds to your score. Later waves throw faster, more accurate, more numerous bots at you, so kills earned deeper into a run are worth more than early ones.

When your health reaches zero, or you get knocked off the arena edge, your kart explodes and you lose one of three lives. If you have lives remaining, you respawn instantly at full health in a safe spot on the arena. Losing your third life ends the run and shows your final score.

Drive with the arrow keys or W/A/S/D. Aim your turret by moving the mouse — it rotates independently of your kart's driving direction. Click, or press Space, to fire. On touchscreens, drag the on-screen joystick to drive and tap the FIRE button to auto-aim and shoot. The M key toggles sound on and off.

There is no single finish line — the goal is to rack up the highest score by smashing rival karts and surviving as many waves as possible before you run out of lives. Circle-strafing to stay mobile, leading your rocket shots, and prioritizing Repair kits when your health is low are the fastest ways to push your score up. See the tips page for a full walkthrough.

Every kart starts with an unlimited-ammo Rocket launcher. Power-ups spawn on the arena floor: a Shotgun for a devastating close-range spread, a Mine you can drop to punish rivals who chase you, a Boost for a burst of speed, and a Repair kit that heals your kart. Yes — colliding with a rival kart deals damage and applies knockback to both of you, and knocking a rival past the arena edge is an instant smash regardless of its remaining health. Ramming is riskiest against full-health rivals near the center of the arena and most rewarding against weak rivals near the rim.

It depends on the fight in front of you: Repair when your health is low, Shotgun when a rival is closing to short range, Mine when you are being chased, and Boost when you need to disengage or close a gap fast. No single power-up beats the others in every situation.

Every few smashes, Smash Karts advances to the next wave, which adds more rival karts to the arena and makes them slightly faster and more accurate. This keeps a long run meaningfully harder than the opening seconds, instead of repeating the same fixed difficulty forever.

Yes. Your best score, best wave reached, and total career kills are saved locally in your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and there is no account or login. Because the save lives on the device, a different phone, a new browser profile, or cleared site data will look like a fresh start.

Yes. smashkarts.app is touch-first: a virtual joystick handles driving, and a single FIRE button auto-aims and shoots at the nearest rival in range. The layout adapts to phones, tablets, and desktops without needing a separate app.

smashkarts.app is a browser game and needs a connection to load the page the first time. After that, some browsers may keep the tab responsive without a network connection, but there is no dedicated offline app or install package.

No official smashkarts.app app is required — the game is the website. You can bookmark it or add the tab to your phone's home screen if your browser supports that, but you still play in the browser. We do not sell a separate iOS or Android build.

No. There is no sign-up, no email gate, and no profile. Your best score and stats stay in this browser on this device. The tradeoff is that we cannot restore a run on a new device for you, since nothing is stored on our servers.

Open Stats from the game menu, tap Reset progress, then confirm with the second tap. That clears your best score, best wave, total kills, and games played on this browser. It cannot be undone.

Local saves are lost if you clear cookies or site data for smashkarts.app, switch browsers, use a private window that has since closed, or open the game on a different device. Some privacy tools and OS "lite" modes also wipe local storage. Because the save never left your browser, we cannot recover it from our side.

Any current browser with JavaScript and HTML5 canvas support: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop, plus their mobile counterparts. If the arena does not respond to input, try updating the browser, disabling a strict script blocker for this site, and reloading.
